The Church kept World Mission Day on Sunday 18 October 2026: the hundredth, a celebration established by Pope Pius XI in 1926 to gather offerings and distribute them, in the Pope’s name, for the needs of the Church’s mission.
Pope Leo XIV chose the theme “One in Christ, united in mission”, which is also the motto of Evangelii Network Japan.
